LH-Stv. Stephan Pernkopf presents two awards from eNu, the Lower Austrian Energy and Environment Agency, as part of the Photovoltaic League for projects in Bruck/Leitha and Scharndorf. The projects were implemented with the support of KEM Energie³, KEM Carnuntum and Energiepark Bruck/Leitha.
KEM Energie³ Manager Irene Schrenk and Mayor Gerhard Weil are delighted to receive the eNu Innovation Award for the Sonnenfeld Bruck/Leitha Agri-PV project. The solar field – built and operated by Energiepark Bruck/Leitha and EWS Consulting – supplies solar power from movable PV modules and also enables agricultural use thanks to its elevated design. At Sonnenfeld, electricity and food production go hand in hand thanks to the dual-use concept. The meeting held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 in St. Pölten by LH-Stv. Dr. Stephan Pernkopf and eNu Managing Director Dr. Herbert Greisberger, the Innovation Award confirms the energy park’s successful path, emphasizes Energiepark CEO Herbert Stava: “We have been working tirelessly for climate protection, sustainability and renewable energy in the region since 1995. We are honored to receive this award for our solar field, which is a true innovation in photovoltaic systems. “Renewable energy is a big issue for us in Bruck/Leitha and we are implementing many projects together, including with KEM Energie³. I am delighted that we were able to take home this special trophy for the Sonnenfeld,” says Mayor Gerhard Weil, underlining the municipality’s commitment.
The second award goes to the municipality of Scharndorf, which took first place in the district ranking for the Bruck/Leitha district. With an increase of 29 % in 2022, the number of PV systems in the town has increased significantly. Deputy Mayor Thomas Schäfer accepted the trophy together with KEM Carnuntum Manager Philip Loitsch from Energiepark Bruck/Leitha. “Our commitment in the village to more PV systems and our tireless educational work for the population are confirmed with this award,” says Deputy Mayor Thomas Schäfer and emphasizes the excellent cooperation with KEM Carnuntum Manager Philip Loitsch, “our goal is of course to install even more PV systems in Scharndorf. We are making good progress with our municipal roofs and we would like to continue to involve the population and convince them that investing in a PV system is not only worthwhile for their electricity bills, but is also a step towards freeing us from our dependence on fossil fuels”.
