The commitment of the municipality of Scharndorf to the “Raus aus Öl & Gas” initiative was rewarded with the award as a pioneering municipality.
The current geopolitical situation shows it more than ever: phasing out fossil fuels is the order of the day! The municipality of Scharndorf made the decision years ago to convert its municipal buildings from oil to heat pumps. This role model effect has also motivated numerous private individuals to switch from fossil fuel heating systems to renewable energy sources. This commitment is not only worthwhile for the municipal budget and the environment! The municipality of Scharndorf with Mayor Leopold Zwickelstorfer and KEM Manager Philip Loitsch were honored for this great commitment by the Deputy Governor of Scharndorf. Stephan Pernkopf as a pioneering municipality.
